Medical Director Elected to Air Medical Physician Association Board of Trustees
CHARLESTON, WV - HealthNet Aeromedical Services' Medical Director, L. Michael Peterson, DO, FACEP, has been elected to a position on the Air Medical Physician Association (AMPA) Board of Trustees.
Dr. Peterson is the first physician from West Virginia to serve as a member of the AMPA Board of Trustees.
AMPA is the largest professional organization of physicians dedicated to helicopter, airplane, and critical care ground transport. With over 400 members nationally and internationally, the association represents extensive expertise in the field of medical transport.
Dr. Peterson is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, a critical care transport paramedic, and a certified medical transport executive. He serves as Medical Director for HealthNet Aeromedical Services, Braxton County EMS, Meigs County EMS, and the Mountwest Community and Technical College Paramedic Program. He is a core faculty member for the emergency medicine residency program at Charleston Area Medical Center and serves as the program’s emergency medicine clerkship director.
